Scams are on the rise—stay one step ahead with these quick tips:
Don’t Answer Unknown Numbers: Let unfamiliar calls go to voicemail; scammers often use fake caller IDs. Remember important calls almost always leave a message.
Avoid Suspicious Links: Links from unknown sources can lead to phishing or malware.
Verify Door-to-Door Salespeople: Ask for ID and research their company—don’t sign under pressure. If you must sign today, then its not a good deal.
Protect Personal Information: Legitimate businesses won’t ask for sensitive details via phone or text. To ensure authenticity, always insist on calling them back using a verified and trusted phone number.
Hang Up on High-Pressure Tactics: Urgent demands or threats are clear red flags—end the call and report it. Remember, it’s not rude to do so, especially since they’re the ones asking for your time and information.
By staying cautious, you can protect yourself and your loved ones. Share these tips to help keep Rowlett safe!

A Note of Gratitude
Creating the Rowlett Roundup has been an incredible journey, but it hasn’t been without its challenges. I’ve received some negative feedback via emails and social media, and even a few reports of the newsletter being marked as spam—despite only emailing subscribers. However, heartfelt messages like this one from Kendall Cavanagh remind me why it’s all worthwhile:
"Your weekly emails are such a refreshing change of pace, informative and positive—a beautiful reminder of all the good in the city."
Thank you, Kendall, and everyone who has shared their support. There truly is so much good in Rowlett if you take the time to look for it. Your encouragement is what keeps this newsletter going strong!
