❓️ DID YOU KNOW

The Origins of Rowlett's Name

Rowlett derives its name from Rowlett Creek, a significant tributary of the east fork of the Trinity River. The creek was named after Daniel Rowlett, who moved from Kentucky to Texas in 1835. Interestingly, despite lending his name to both the creek and the city, Daniel Rowlett never actually resided in the area; he settled in Bonham, Texas, instead.
